This gun is not alive, though most think it is due to the hyper-realistic eyes. The crystals on it are inside of tubes that lead to the barrel of the gun. When the trigger is pulled, a thin layer of each crystal is cut off, going into the barrel, then the pieces are launched through the barrel, shattering in the process, causing a scattershot effect.
